Not a Fun Day

Yesterday was the first truly challenging day at our Children's Hospital. NOT because they had trouble getting a line in (it went beautifully!), but because M decided she had a will of her own. Apparently she had had enough of everything and spent most of her time trying to find ways to get the iv OUT. It was R's turn with her for the day and he came home exhausted!

We know that these kind of days don't happen often and once she's older and can actually do something (ANYTHING) things will be easier. She doesn't even watch tv during her 8 hours there - she doesn't like it! To think, some day she'll be taking her bookbag and doing homework while hooked up...no big deal!

Next time we're going to try going in the day before and letting them do the antibody checking overnight. It's the same amount of time "out" for us, but perhaps it will feel better psychologically. :-)

One Year Ago right about.....NOW!

One year ago today we got our phone call from CCAI letting us know that there was a precious little girl waiting for us in China. Shortly after that call they emailed the first pictures we would ever see of our daughter. THANK YOU, GOD!!!!!!
