Tonight I cried. We tried something new at church this evening. ABout 80 of us gathered together to eat and worship all in one experience. Old, young, healthy, sick, married, divorced, happy, hurting....a community, a family, a church. Our crew pretty much takes up a banquet table now, but we had room for one guest and a pipsqueak of girl with the tiniest little voice sat with us. A little one from China. She sat next to Violet and Mia and just loved being with the big girls who giggled at her adoring eyes. They helped her with everything...getting her soup, picking her bread, sneaking bites of dessert before the healthy food...and then
Pastor John said it was time to pray.
And Violet took the little one's hands and helped her to fold them.
And whispered that it was time to talk to Jesus.
And smiled. And the sprite smiled back.
And I got all teary eyed.
Two souls once lost have been found. The Father has called them out of darkness and into a light that will never fade. I glimpsed the work of God tonight. These precious girls once alone half a world away now sitting side by side, singing to the One who ransomed them.
Behold! He makes all things new! He heals the broken! He sets the lonely in families!
And it.is.breathtakingly.beautiful.
