G says his new teacher might even be better than his teacher last year...and since her name was Miss M & M, I think that's high praise.
Why the change? After only two days in school, their class earned a dance party. And there was Mrs. A, right in the middle of the class teaching everyone the Electric Slide. :-)

She's Getting it!
Yesterday, the most profound thing happened. I wish I remembered all of the details, but the most important part is crystal clear.
M looked right into my eyes and said, "You will always love me. For ever and ever. Even when I a big girl, I always be your little girl." Then she smiled and sighed.
And then....so did I.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Can you hear the quiet? I can actually hear my dishwasher humming and my laundry machine sudsing. Oh. And the melodramatic sadness of a 4 year old who doesn't start preschool until NEXT week saying, "I got nuffin' to do. I got nuffin' to do."
We've got one VERY happy 8th grader this morning. Up and ready to seize the day.
But we've also got one very unsure 2nd grader. He's the got the hardest teacher in the school. And his oh-so-kind older brother spent ALL SUMMER reminding him of just how hard she was when he had her years ago. G is haunted. So haunted he was already sick in the bathroom this morning. The boy teachers call "delightful" is going to be just fine. Just tell his stomach that!
I was able to get half a smile...
AHA! "G! Show us your cool new lizard backpack!" Now, he looks a little more comfortable.
J-cool. Top dog of the local elementary school.
And they're off. God bless their teachers. Literally. They're gonna' need it!

I hate when my favorite bloggers don't post everyday. And yet, we were pretty sad about posting this summer. We ended up filling every possible moment with memories(and the work it takes to make the memories happen).
Here are some of our favorite times from the past few weeks.
Child labor as we ripped out carpeting and replaced with laminate wood flooring to make a new dining room.
It's beautiful and we can all fit around the same table now!
Our church hosts world-renown worship leader Robin Mark for a night of praise.
And OUR WORSHIP TEAM got to be his backup band. Sooo much fun! Kindof' weird, though, for R to be in the audience while J was on stage. A changing of roles!
An impromptu game of football...in the drenching rain.
Doesn't get better than that for a boy.
