M has her first consonant at the end of a word...K. She says "milk" like she's speaking Hebrew...nice and thick. We're cracking up around here! However, she still can't make the "ck" sound on the front of a word. The speech pathologist said that's actually a hard sound to make and not one easily learned.
Today I was making homemade cookies to welcome home the younger two boys from school on a gray and dreary day here.
M was so excited. "Me, too, bookies Mama!"
Not wanting to be left out, N quickly said, "Uh...mom? Can I lick the bookie bowl?"
:-)
I think we have a favorite family story for the books now.

Regata Day
Yesterday, N's class had Regata Day at school. The school flooded a nearby field where he and his fellow 6th graders had competitions with catamarans they built in their tech ed class. A huge picnic followed the launch. N enjoyed winning his heat! Since moms don't come to middle school anymore, I have no pix. But......
to celebrate the beautiful weather and being one step closer to summer, we stopped for ice cream on the way home. N volunteered to be the "dad," helping M keep her drips to a minimum. Shhhh! The other boys were still in school and haven't heard. Good thing M doesn't speak a lot of English, yet....mums the word from her!
