Raising 3

I know. We have 4 kids. But we have THREE boys and lately they are very much acting like the first-born, middle-child, and baby. And I have no idea what to do about it accept laugh through it and teach through it.

Tonight, while playing some very fun game of pickle in the middle with neighborhood kids, G was tagged out. As he SOBBED, he clearly said,

"But the rules don't apply to me!"

(I turned my head and said to my neighbor mom friend..."See? Baby of the family.")

He went on to say,

"N makes all the rules!"

(I turned my head and said to neighbor mom friend..."See? First born.")

And J? He was very happy to blame BOTH brothers so that he would look innocent.

("See? Middle son.")

Sigh. I follow the advice of my friend who is one of three boys. Just have all three be in trouble. Usually they all deserve it. :-)

Honestly...

While snuggling in bed this morning I told M she had beautiful brown eyes. "What color are Mom's eyes?" I asked.

She thought long and hard.

"Blue," she finally declared, "with lots of pink and red in them."

That would be called taking care of four children 24/7. Thank you, sweet child, for pointing that out. Visine here I come!
