Perfect

This morning was the kids' last full day of school All. four. out. of. the. house. at. once.

We were seriously excited and seriously sad all at once. We prayed for good weather and were met with gorgeous sun and glorious temps this morning.

We threw the kayaks on the roof of the van, about threw our kids out of the house (well, not really) and headed off to a beautiful spot.

I was nervous about giving up our usual coffee time together, but it was so worth it! Turtles, heron, baby ducklings. And hooking up our kayaks mid-lake to just float and talk uninterrupted. So glad we did it and dreaming of our date mornings next year!

A Step Back in Time

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! It's Colonial Day here in our neck of the woods. Normally, it's earlier in the year, but I think the teachers might have been thinking it would help with the insanity of the last days to schedule it this week instead.

J will be making homemade butter, playing colonial day games, and eating traditional foods. YUM!

Only 2 1/2 days of school left!

Play Date!

Yesterday, we enjoyed meeting friends at the park! One of the things that I love about our circle of friends is that it is getting more diverse all the time. A little picture of heaven!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 14th anniversary. We thought we would go out to celebrate, but...

N's last baseball playoff game was rescheduled for tonight.

Concert rehearsal.

Trophy party for middle son's team.

Saturday?

Won't we be too tired from the week by then to go out?! Didn't I just post on how great it is too have a lot of kids? :-)

Look How Much She's Grown!

Today, M came out of preschool (her final week) with the teacher saying, "We measured all the children again today. M grew the most of anyone this year! 4 1/2 inches!" Wow! We KNEW she had grown, but wow!

Busy Beavers!

We've had a busy two days here in CT! Yesterday, we needed some family together time so we packed the kids into the van and headed to an organic farm about an hour away. The drive was beautiful, past historic homes and wandering streams. The kids picked their hearts out for so long they worked up appetites that wouldn't make it all the way home. A stop to Cracker Barrel was in order. The only restaurant where we can feed them more than they can eat for $40!

Today we spent hours working in the yard. We built and filled raised garden beds, planted our window box, and neatened things up. There's so much to do, but we will sleep well knowing we've made a dent!
