Big Happenings Here. The First Day of School came again. There was much rejoicing among the parents. There was much rejoicing among the littles. There was even a hint of happiness among the teens. Note, not at the 6:45 AM wake up call. This year we sent a child to K, 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th. And our credit card can prove it. Do you know just how many sneakers, backpacks, lunchboxes and pencils it takes to send this army out the door?! There should be a reward program for parents. Or perhaps a certificate that reads
Great Job, Mom! You actually got everyone out in matching clothes with clean socks, filled water bottles, labeled lunch things, and happy hearts without losing your mind!
Joe Cool. Mr. Mohawk with a messenger bag.
No, I did not forget to take his picture in the morning and stage a retake in the afternoon. Ahem.
Seriously, too cute for me to handle.
And this one? We haven't had her home long enough to say goodbye everyday already!
Despite my tears (and my husband's yahooing), we have now entered an unusual place for us. This is the first time in FIFTEEN years that we have not had a child at home. I'd say it feels nice or I'd say it feels empty, but right now...I can't feel anything. We're too tired!
