I try not to think about the fact that somewhere the man who casually pulled out in front of us is walking around feeling fine and we're still hurting, but I am human. It might not be as tempting if he had talked to us at the scene of the accident or apologized for making such a foolish choice. Perhaps he was never taught that these things are important, that people are important. Perhaps we'll never know.
What I do know is that I cannot for the life of me remember a lot of words these days or multiplication facts which Gabe is having great fun with during homeschooling. :-)
I have had to drop out of my current grad class and hope to restart at the next term. Reading causes too much pain right now. It has also made homeschooling the kiddos hard. So, we signed the kids up for a virtual school so they can finish up the school year. Mia and Gabe are plugging right along. Violet is doing what she is able to with the headaches.
The sun has poked his head out a few times here in CT, but not as much as any of us would have liked and it has been hard to keep our spirits up. Thankfully, reading recipes leaves my head spinning or we would weigh 300 pounds from baking (and eating) our way through the late spring doldrums. :-)
Life goes on even when Mom (and Violet) are in daily pain.
Noah is headed to Gettysburg on a class trip next weekend and has his school's version of prom the weekend after that.
I can't believe we have a son old enough to do that! He is taking a very sweet girl that we love from church. This mom could not be happier. We love you, Olivia! Joseph is soon to be confirmed. We are looking forward to celebrating with family and friends.
Gabe's season of Spring travel soccer has started. His foot grew almost two sizes between fall and spring and his first game in his new cleats was funny to watch him "relearn" where his foot is in space as his cleats were literally inches bigger compared to the ball than in the fall. Makes for different ball manipulation!
We have another voracious reader in the ranks! Despite a concussion, I keep finding little Violet with chapter books in her hands. This week? The middle of the kitchen floor!
Of all the places to read a book! And in THIS house? With THESE boys? You could get trampled on in one of their wild dashes to the fridge! We are very much looking foward to wrapping up the school year (Noah can't wait to say goodbye to chemistry) and saying hello to summer. A certain someone is turning 40! I can't believe it. Can't be happening!
In all of this, ups and downs, good and bad, we see that God is ever faithful. He is constant and sure and able to provide all that we need in this body and life. Thank you, Jesus!
