Post Surgery Update

Friday, I (dad) took Violet to the Surgeon for her post-surgery follow-up.  Things are looking really well.  First, I did not pass out looking at the incision site. (always a plus.) Second, the stitches will dissolve naturally. (so I don't have to watch them come out.  Another plus.)  Third, the surgery appears to have been quite successful.  The band was released quite well and is now...well it's hard to explain.  It's smooth between the upper leg and that part that was below the band.  Now I can see why he was dissatisfied with the first surgery.  It still is indented and "band-like." This side will look like there wasn't a band.  Fourth, Violet was cleared to put weight on her foot/leg.  She was (like last time) hesitant, but within a day has been motoring around without the walker.  Fifth, she was sadly NOT cleared for her temporary prosthetic.  Apparently she can't use that until after our mid January (?!!!!) appointment.  That is disheartening.  That prosthetic makes lots of things easier.  Without a solid shoe on that foot, we have to go back to some slipper type thing.  Those are harder to keep clean and dry in inclement weather.  Ah, well.  we'll manage.  Basically, she's doing quiet well.
