One Week Later

Well, it's over a week since V's surgery, and we've slipped back into bad blogging habits! (no posts!)So here's a little catch up:

Thanksgiving:

• 16 people; two turkeys; lots of great food and family. (Us +Uncle Tom and Aunt Susan +J's brother and youngest sister+ my brother and his family) A very nice day.

Super-storm Sandy Relief Work:

• Noah and I traveled to Staten Island and NJ (respectively) with his school.  Noah helped organize donations in a shelter; I helped do flood demolition (pre-repair work) in a trailer home.

Back to School:

• Violet went back to school like a champ.  She has been FANTASTIC!  It helps that everyone has been so welcoming and encouraging.  Her preschool class sent her cards; Her Kindergarten teacher actually made a house-call and visited with Violet over the weekend.  She's still doing quite well--though the wrap on her leg can itch sometimes.
• While everyone else went back to school, poor Gabe was home until today with a cold and fever.  He's on the up-swing.

Transfusion:

• Tomorrow I, (Randall) take Mia in for her next transfusion. We can REALLY tell that she needs one.
