We're Adopting Again!

It's been brewing for a long, long while. It probably began years ago when our hearts first broke for the children of China.

Once we opened our hearts to consider the plight of so many thousands of children

Once we opened ourselves to be used by the Lord to rescue

Once we realized the immense privilege of helping these children heal

Once we understood that welcoming home a little one has changed our lives as much as it has changed hers...it seemed all but inevitable that we would return.

Because we can't forget the faces of those left behind.

For us, it's the children that are harder to place...the older ones, the ones with special needs...they are the voices that cry to us in the midst of our affluence and remind us that we were blessed not to hoard, but to share.

There's a funny thing that happens when you exhaust all your excuses. The excuses that seemed so real and big and insurmountable suddenly shrink into perspective.

You realize that God is bigger than your fears and your failures, your doubts and your shortcomings.

And you imagine how life could be even richer and fuller and better with another little one.

And you believe that although it may be hard, that God is bigger than her pain and able to heal with just a word.

And you know that although you could pretend you didn't, you saw a face that needs someone.

And you suddenly know that you would cross oceans of water and mountains of paperwork to bring her home.

And you would love every moment of it and count it pure joy and the most humbling privilege.
We have received pre-approval to adopt a beautiful 5 year old girl in Shandong Province in China. We have been asked not to share her picture yet, but believe us...we'll be showing her precious face just as soon as we are allowed!
